Full-day pottery lessons offer an immersive experience that’s perfect for individuals who want to dive a little deeper into the world of ceramics. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to create four pots that you can proudly take home and display. Under Kim’s guidance, you’ll learn a variety of pottery techniques, ranging from throwing on the pottery wheel to hand-building and burnishing.

This all-encompassing session not only allows you to develop a strong foundation in pottery but also provides an unforgettable day out!

Full day sessions run from 09:30-16:30. Completed pots will be fired and then can either be picked up at the Studio, or posted on to you for a small fee.

Half-day

£75 (includes the firing and glazing of two pots)

With a half-day pottery lesson, you’ll have the opportunity to learn basic pottery techniques at your own pace, guided at all times by Kim. With full use of the tools available at the Dark Sky Pottery Studio, you’ll experience what it’s like to “throw” a pot on a full-sized wheel, and get your hands messy while you make your very own pots to take home and keep.

Half day sessions run from either 09:30-13:30, or 13:30-17:00. Completed pots will be fired and then can either be picked up at the Studio, or posted on to you for a small fee.

For those looking for a more structured and gradual learning experience, Kim also offers bespoke evening classes that span over five weeks.

Each class lasts for two hours, once a week, providing an excellent way to develop pottery skills while balancing everyday commitments. This course structure allows for a deeper understanding of pottery techniques and gives participants the time to practice and refine their skills. Each week will focus on creating a new pottery piece, which will then be fired and glazed and made available for you to take home at a later date.

Evening class times and days are arranged on an individual basis, and take place at the Dark Sky Pottery Studio in Leek, Staffordshire.
